National Day!

Sitting in school right now, in the library, having nothing better to do but to reminiscence about CCHY and the most awesome National Day celebrations we had in the past.

Secondary Three, the Family Day Bazaar when we also hosted a party for Miss Fanny See's resignation. The day when we first knew her Chinese name after almost 3 years. That day filled with fun and laughter and warmth in school. The singalong sessions in the hall with Mdm Connie Yeo's son. The great memories of CCHY.

Last year, the most epic National Day celebrations. Attendance of the class was 50% because of a widespread virus. LOL. We were banned from the hall because of us having the potential to carry the virus. We ended up painting our fishes, and missed the last National Day celebrations we have in CCHY. That was quite sad.

This year, we're all over the country, celebrating National Day in all different and yet less vibrant ways. Random games, concerts, nothing can compare to CCHY's magnificence.

Never mind. It's the CCHY Cultural Night tomorrow night at Republic Polytechnic. I think the tickets are sold out already, but well, for those who had managed to get them, let's have fun tomorrow night~ :D

Hello all CCHY 4H'09 Peeps~!!!

Long time no post, or so I suppose. First official post since the beginning of a new life for many of us.

I'm sure everyone's leading a different life right now, some of you working hard to earn your keep, some of you trying to adapt to the new environment in a new school with a new batch of friends. It's good to start on a new journey to achieve new goals, but at the same time, let's not forget the past and let's all cherish all the memories we have had together as a marvelous class.

Fate brought us all together to Chung Cheng High School (Yishun), the most wonderful school in the entire universe. A school overflowing with warmth from the teachers, the peers, and everything else. A school exhibiting the magnificent Chung Cheng spirit. A large family which shares weals and woes.

I believe many of us had been through thick and thin with friends, buddies or BFFs in CCHY, and forged many unbreakable bonds between people. Carved out many marks in our hearts that can never be removed, made many awesome memories that we will look back on forever in our lives. I hope we never forget all these that we have been through as a class and as a school, and that we continue to live as a proud alumni of Chung Cheng High School (Yishun).

It's amazing how time flies. Getting into Chung Cheng was just like yesterday, but 4 long years have passed by and countless events have occurred which changed our lives. Now that we are leading different lives now, I cannot help to look back on all the fun we have had, the laughter we shared during CLVS, the complaints we made towards countless Maths test, the motivation Mr Lee tried to deliver, our dramatic war preparations, the hot and stuffy classroom during certain seasons of the year, the lecture theatre with a not-so-efficient air-conditioner system, the indoor sports hall where we rush to after our recess, the "Three cheers for Chung Cheng" which consisted of 11 claps each, the times we gobbled down food because we were running late, the times we ran from the coffee shops to the lecture theatre for our Social Studies lectures, the number of times we have amazed our teachers for being what we are.

All these were things of the past, and we can no longer enjoy them the way we did. Year 2009 was hectic yet enjoyable. We never failed to find entertainment in the horrifying lessons, and even had fun during Mock Exams, Prelims and the O's.

Within the blink of an eye, the O's are over, even the holidays have come to an end. Our time together has probably downsized so drastically I cannot describe. But let us all make it a point to visit this blog, tag, post, and continue to live proudly as 4H'09 champions. If time permits, we would organize outings and gatherings to catch up on each others' lives.

Everyone, I wish that 2010 is an awesome year for you. May we meet again very soon during the Chinese New Year. Enjoy your new lives. :D

I was just surfing blogs, and kinda expected to see some motivational post up here on our class blog. But.. There was none. So.. Perhaps everyone is busy? Or has everyone forgotten about our blog.. Haha.

All I want to say is..

GOOD LUCK 4H !!!

Tomorrow at 2pm, we'll be receiving our results for the O's. All of us have worked extremely hard the past 4 yrs, and I believe that we had all put in our greatest effort in the exams. I'm confident that all of us will do very well, so guys, please do not be excessively worried. Our teachers have a lot of faith in us, and we should believe in ourselves as well !

We have faced tough questions, stacks of practice paper and weeks of torturous exam. We have shared laughter and tears, and survived the upper sec years. So.. In the new year of 2010.. Let's all face tomorrow bravely, and give our support to one another.

We will definitely do well and make our teachers proud.
=)

Hope that all 4h-ians can get a good night's rest tonight, and be fresh tmr. It's an impt day for all of us, so try not to come looking like a panda. Haha.

SPAM Weekly - 14 November 2009

Alright, due to ~~popular~~ demand, I shall post a SPAM article this week to entertain everyone.

First on my agenda today is to talk about the Post-'O' Level Withdrawal Symptoms, which I shall give it a short form called POLWS. Essentially, this is what you people should be experiencing right now. Symptoms include random dreams of studying for 'O' Level, as experienced by Qunjie who dreamt of himself reading his Chemistry file, sudden flash of thoughts during the weekends at home that you "should not spend the whole day playing video games, but should study a bit", experienced by myself just not too long ago when I saw my PS2 console. Then I realised, "What the hell was I going to study for?". Other symptoms which I can think of includes the usage of terms used in our subjects, like calling the shopping centre "Velocity" as "change in displacement over time", and talking about the denaturing of salivary amylase when eating hotpot. Some people also go on following their weekly schedule to study at certain times, then realise that they do not have anything to study for.

Till now, there are no actual cures for the POLWS. However, it does not do any harm to the human body besides making you sound stupid. These symptoms will go away after some time when you get used to the new living environment. You can try indulging in playing games or working to alleviate the occurrence of the symptoms, go out with friends and laugh at each other, whatever.

Next, Graduation Night 2009 is just round the corner. I hope everyone has found an ideal costume to wear for the day. Bring your cameras if you wish to take photos to keep as eternal memory of the wonderful class.

You have two months to enjoy yourselves before we obtain our results slip. Let's walk back proudly and confident that we can attain our dream scores. Let's burn a hole in Mrs Choo's pocket too.

I shall skip the video today because I don't know what everyone likes. Enjoy your holidays~

Everyone, look to your left and there it is! START THE PARTY.

I know, some of us may feel a sense of emptiness in us right now because we've lost the only goal in life for the time being. But no worries, I'm sure we can find something meaningful to do this holidays.

Let's think of what to do to celebrate our 2 months of craziness.

1. I'm writing this msg because i don't have the opportunity to talk to you all again as you are still busy preparing your other papers. I hope i'm not disturbing you. If yes, pls log off and come back again after your Geo paper.

2a. No matter how you have done for your paper 2, let's forget about it. Move on and focus on Paper 1. You need to warm up again by doing physically the recent few years of O level MCQs. Recall and practice the formulae and concept. This is very important. Next, revise those MCQs you have not done well previously in other papers.

2b. When doing the paper itself on Tue, remember to choose the BEST of the 4 options given to you. Read and understand the questions well and i believe you will do well!

3. A match is over only when the final whistle is blown. If you are trailing, do not lose hope. You can still score the winning goal if you remain focus and optimistic, even if the winning goal is scored right at full time. So brace yourself up and FINISH the match STRONGLY!

If you are leading, do not be complacent. Grind out the last few minutes stubbornly. Finish the routine qn well and be discipline not to concede any silly goal.

4. It has been a privilege and rewarding to teach all of you. You have made my switching to teaching worthwhile. I will miss all of you. Thank you for your listening ear. I hope i have made a DIFFERENCE in you (not just in results, but the character & fighting spirit in you). Remember, No matter the outcome, Mr Lee will always be proud of you because you have done your very best!

CAN YOU ALL BELIEVE IT? IT'S ONE MORE WEEK TO FREEDOM. LESS THAN 7 DAYS TO BE EXACT.

Imagine when the clock strikes 0900 in the hall and the CPE (I still have no idea what's her name) says "Alright, pens down."

Imagine the emotions building up within yourselves. Imagine the urge to start screaming but you can't.

Remember, keep quiet and keep that mouth tightly closed until we get out of the hall. I'm guessing that there's this one person taking her exams somewhere else in the school building. You know who she is.

As long as we get out, we can start screaming in the absence of the CPE. Throw your bags, bring all your notes and throw them into bin for all you care.

But now, it's 5 more papers to go for most of us. 4 more for those who have dropped Biology and 3 more for those who are not retaking their Chinese. Which means, 2 more for whoever dropped Biology and not retaking Chinese. If that person exist, that is.

I don't get it, Combined Science ends earlier than us. Their last paper is on the 11th I think.

Fight hard for the last round! Remember Mr Lee's words, you have to stay focused until the last second! Even though it's a three papers day on Tuesday, remember to stay alert for the Physics Paper 1!!!

He's hoping for 15 A1s, and I think we can do it because we are 4H'09. :D

Anyways, Higher Chinese students, Mdm Goh will be conducting supplementary classes at 9am on 7 November and (I think) 1.30pm on 9 November 2009. Please choose one of the two sessions if you want to go. Totally optional because Mdm Goh doesn't really care as well. She said if we go, we look for her and she conducts her lessons. If we don't she'll just sit and relax in the staff room. Up to you.

Yes, this is random.

Just to remind everyone that all the things that Miss Kaur said would be posted on the ASKnLearn portal, including a new answer for a certain Situational Writing we did in the past. She said that she would be writing a new answer to suit the writing style which the seminar mentioned. Please look out for it. The link to the ASKnLearn portal can be found to the left once you've managed to log in. And please remember to enter the correct password.

Whoever has the photos taken today, please upload it some time convenient, although I think there isn't really any convenient time these few weeks.

For the "REST OF 4H", please be informed that Chemistry this Saturday, as mentioned in the previous post, is CANCELED according to Anna, I think. Which means we're probably not going to have anymore Chemistry lessons with Mdm Yeo anymore. Who knows.

Unfortunately, Crayon Shinchan's author and creator, Mr Usui Yoshito, has passed away after falling off a cliff during a hiking expedition on 11 September 2009.

For whomever is reading this who had laughed to Crayon Shinchan at least once, please do mourn for this awesome manga artist who has dedicated his life to bringing smiles to children all over the whole world.

Agenda: CHALET PART III

somehow ,thanks to mdm yeo, agenda of the day seems to be a compulsory part for my entry... never mind.. i shall talk about some updated information about chalet today..

Firstly...
The collection of money will start soon... tentative amount will be $18 for 2 nights + BBQ... $13 for 1 night + BBQ and $8 for BBQ only.. the amount currently i will get according to the number coming will be around $523.. it's not a huge amount so i hope people will come fore more nights=)
PS. i had some miscalculation before i realised and the price will have to be slightly higher.. sorry~

Secondly...
just for your information.. the price for the chalet will be $255.. our estimate cost for BBQ will be $200.. so in the end i will have only left around $68 for other things like other essential things for BBQ...

there is a change in plan also.. there will be no refund if you did not turn up due to the budget constrain unless with valid reasons... i will collect the money either during this coming week or next week.. hope you guys cooperate=)

for example:
Case 1...if Johnny indicate that he has $18 and he will be coming for 2 nights.. he will have to pay $18 and get bankrupt.. however if he did not turn up for either one or both nights, he will not get his refund back..

Case 2... if Johnny again.. indicates that he will be staying for 1 night($13) but at the last minutes he changed stayed for 2, he will just have to pay the extra $5 which equals to $18(cost for 2 nights)

Thirdly...
can friends of the following students please inform them that they had not inform me the number of nights they will be staying:

i had collated the number of nights you guys are staying for the chalet..i will like to thank you guys for participating our class chalet=) and also feel sorry for those unable to attend..however, there are still some people did not indicate that whether they are joining us.. this includes

Secondly...
the venue had been settled at the Pool Terrace.. either unit no. 6 or 10.. i will be discussing the price of the chalet and the booking with Mr Goh tomorrow... hope everything goes well...

To prevent people from "cheating our feeling", we will charge half the amount you had indicated that you will be coming for if you did not turn up in the end...

hopes that we will not face that situation as if you did not turn up, we may not have enough money for the food or chalet etc.. to further prevent that situation, we will be collecting the money once we had settled the price=)

talking about food.. like last year, we will be catering BBQ food from the BBQWholeSale again.. BBQ is on the 4th January and i think we will have some mid night indoor movie after BBQ..

Firstly...
the chalet is on the 3rd to 5th January 2010.. i will pass a piece of name list down for you all to choose the number of nights you guys are staying.. one night, two nights BBQ only or not attending...

Secondly...
the venue is at Aloha Loyang.. there will be another poll whether we will choose the Sea View or the Pool Side... both have its own pros and cons.. so i will like to have your opinions..

Thirdly...
the food will be prepared by QG Tan... there will be a rough idea of what we are going to eat by the end of this week...

Lastly...

Well, and of course, Congratulations to Mr Lee Kah Chin for receiving the Most Caring Teacher Award this year as well! Indeed, he deserves it totally. Mr Lee, if you're reading this, seriously, don't look down on that one piece of paper, it is the condensation of all the long long passages emphasizing how great you are, written to the committee through our AskNLearn portal. It represents the appreciation from every single one of us to you. XD

And of course, not forgetting the Dancing Queen of 4H'09, Miss Manvinder Kaur~! alpha&co had got th plans to get th second cls tee done,
aft prelims w another supplier.

tht can add on th tee w a cls jacket.
& i kinda got a supplier tht is kinda reliable;
it's actually th supplier tht 4G'09 went to.

Breaking Our Own Record

Yes, only 26 came to school today, Junhao was chased home and Duncan was sent home early in the morning.

Almost half the class is down and I believe we have broken the record or something. Indeed, we are the best class. :D

Anyways, if I'm not mistaken, Mr Goh has mentioned that he would not be at Burger King tomorrow morning because we aren't supposed to be visiting such places. I wasn't listening attentively, so if anyone is sure, please feel free to correct me.

Record Breaker

Like everyone else around, I'm in awe. Well, we don't get 15 absentees a class everyday do we? That's exactly 1/3 of the class. I'm guessing we broke the highest absence record in CCHY history or something.

Anyways, to all those who were or are still ill, please take care of your health and hope you people recover fast. Have lots of rest and drink jugs of water. For those who are still fortunately in the pink of health, do be cautious such that you don't catch the bug too. Take care of personal hygiene and rest early to prevent your immune system from breaking down.

There's still National Day celebration tomorrow, for those who still are not feeling well, or still have an MC with effect until tomorrow, please stay at home to rest. There will be no lessons tomorrow, so you people can take a nice rest for 4 days. :D

And we are getting our classroom disinfected tomorrow, so let's hope that everything will be fine after the disinfection. :D

Gaah!! It's one more day till hell rises!

This week had been dramatic, with the leaving of Michael Jackson, stirring up a large storm of news and discussions about his death. Indeed, it is a shame that a great singer leaves this world so early.

Nevertheless, we should still continue our lives and work hard towards our goals. Let's hope that Michael Jackson will aid us in our English one way or another. (Michael Jackson pun intended, if you don't understand it, then too bad.)

Anyways, what happens here is, Miss Kaur called many people, I don't know if it is everyone, to inform them that the school will be mailing another Travel Declaration Form to everyone. We should all receive it by Friday or latest Saturday. If we do not get it by school start, we should visit the school website to download the form and hand it in on Monday. Holla, late by a day or so, but it's okay since everyone's busy doing what they like or what they don't~ Okay, I'm a little high and tipsy today. I volunteered to mop the whole house. *claps for myself*

There, and I signed into Blogger and was about to update about the Channel News Asia news on Term 3, but Anna beat me to it because I signed in and wandered off elsewhere to chat with my friend and surf the Net for no good reasons. XD

So~ Term 3 is coming in a week's time, have you all got your work done? I bet no, because me too! I've just completed one Physics paper and have been dead the whole week. Wahaha! Optimistically overconfident and lazy. I'm still feeling high so there you go, wahaha!

And it will be one hell of a term when school starts, prelims, loads of work, and the return of doom.

Yes, it is some hard times right now. Papers, work, stress and all, but being stressed up does nothing to help lighten the workload. Why not just stay happy and face it optimistically?

And remember this, In rain or sunshine, in darkness or brightness, YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE. We have all our supportive teachers pushing us so hard at the expense of themselves, work hard and give it your best shot. Grab those A1s and give yourselves and your teachers a reason to rejoice. Prove it to them that we can do it, and we can do it better than all the past students, because we are 4H'09. :D

Okay, that didn't really sound like me. But well, enjoy your two weeks, balance your work and play, live these two weeks to the fullest because when school reopens, you'll need all the energy to run to the end!

Sorry for posting this so late in the day. Was busy playing Pokemon this morning. XD

Welcome to SPAM Weekly this week.

Well, that was four days of Extended Programme over for us. Somehow, we must have all benefited in one way or another, I believe. Five more days till our 2 weeks June holidays, persevere!

Also, from whom I don't know, but I have received this SMS saying that there will be Chemistry remedial from 2.45pm to 3.45pm in the lecture theatre for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week. Be prepared for the spamming of Chemistry homework.

Besides that, I would also like to remind everyone to be responsible for their own valuables. Don't bring them if you don't need them, take care of them if you bring them, to prevent theft which has occurred this past week.

Things have been quite peaceful this past week besides all that. Well, we should enjoy the next week of proper lessons before our preliminary examinations and the return of terror in term 3.

Welcome to the second edition of SPAM Weekly.

Really, these days are boring with so much work and so little time. Half the class is going nuts because of the Chinese 'O' Levels and the whole class are half dead because of the Mock Exams. Well, for the 'O' Levels lot, persevere, it's just one more day to conquering that paper.

Make sure you read your passages and questions carefully, make sure you understand what you are reading before you attempt the questions.

Not forgetting that we still have 12 of us who owe Mdm Sue letters of apology.

And don't forget about Miss Kaur's Oral Practice session tomorrow morning for those involved.

I'm trying to say something happy, but the thought of still having 2 more weeks of extended programme kind of turns me off.

To the Express Chinese 'O' Levels examinees, I don't know if Mr Yip has briefed you peeps on this, but a little tip here from what I remember hearing last year. For situational writing, for example if the question asks you to write a formal letter to the Principal of your school, please do not indicate your school as Chung Cheng High Yishun or anything like that. (Like when you give the Principal his/her title) The markers for your scripts have totally no idea where you are from since they only read your index number and not your school. Their expectations of us or possible grudge against our school may affect their marking for your script. So remember! Good Luck for the papers!

Alright. To solve the problem of this blog being apparently dead, as mentioned by Mdm Connie Yeo, I have decided to start this random weekly post titled Samuel Poon's Alive Movement, or in short, SPAM. Thank you.

I'll be posting the most random stuff of the week that occurred to me or the class. So this week, I think it has been an abnormal one for all of us. Mock Exams, lecture from Mdm Sue, half day off, Sports Carnival, I think we've enjoyed quite a bit.

Anyways, cheers to all the tug-of-war players who won against 4G this year. I remember we lost last year and Mdm Yeo laughed at us. We should laugh back at her.

Oh, and our class T-shirt seems to be on the way. A few of us were contemplating to make something other than the T-shirt, something special. Considering that 4F has a class jacket and 4G seems to be making a pullover. Suggestions please consult the tagboard. And remember to insert the correct password.

Okay, I've also create a Facebook group for our class and have invited those in my Friends list to join. Check it up ya?
